Ballet

Ballet is a classical dance form characterised by its grace, precision, and formalised movements. Ballet combines dance, music, and theatre to express and tell stories whilst focusing on technique, such as: turnout, alignment, and controlled, flowing movements. Famous works include "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," and "Giselle." Ballet is recognised as being the foundational genre in the world of dance.

Jazz

Funky, powerful and forever evolving, Jazz is upbeat and trendy. Jazz is influenced by pop music and seen in concerts and video clips for many famous Artists. Fitness levels are improved and flexibility enhanced as dancers perform rhythmic, funky movement to the latest hits.

FAQs

  • We want your little dancers to feel comfortable, so there are no uniform requirements for Tiny Dancers. They are welcome to come dressed as a fairy princess, superhero, or in their comfiest clothes. However, if you would like to purchase the ERO uniform for this age group, you can find it in our ‘Shop’, just follow the link in the menu! For the end-of-year Showcase, Tiny Dancers are required to wear the correct dance footwear, so we do suggest getting into the habit of wearing ballet shoes and/or jazz shoes weekly so the little ones get use to it. It’s also a special part of dance practise!

  • We suggest bringing along a small water bottle. For Ballet, ballet shoes are required, and for Jazz, jazz shoes. These items will be required for the end-of-year Showcase, so it’s excellent for our Tiny Dancers to get use to wearing these shoes weekly in their classes.

  • We understand that starting dance classes can be a big step, and we want your dancer to feel comfortable and supported. If your dancer is feeling unsure, parents/carers are welcome to sit in on the first lesson. After that, we request that parents/carers use the waiting room directly outside the studio. There is also a viewing window at the door, so parents/carers can peek in if need be.

  • The end-of-year Concert is not compulsory, but it is certainly a highlight of the year for our dancers. We understand that performing on stage may feel overwhelming for some children, which is why Miss Edwina and Miss Tori carefully prepare them to feel confident and comfortable. It is truly the most rewarding time of the year, watching our beautiful little dancers shine on stage. Get the Kleenex ready!
